Can someone assist me here ,

I have set the sounds options to door bell with volume up,,,, thinking when anew
email comes in , it will chime me, I have sent test messages in, but no sounds but a very short beep?

Any ideas what I am doing wrong ?

My iPads don't offer the option to choose sounds for new mail. They just offer the beep on or off, as far as I know.

Is your iPad jailbroken?
