I was wondering if anyone could help me.

My mother is sharing an iTunes account with my sister. My mother does not know too much about computers in general (or the iPad/iPhone in particular). She doesn't know how this happened. The net result being that every time she downloads an app from the App Store, my sister's account gets charged.

How do we end the sharing of accounts and get my mother her own iTunes account?

You'll need an email address for her, and a payment method, which can also be "None".

To set up a new Apple ID, go to App Store - Featured, or iTunes Store, or to Settings - iTunes & App Store on her iPad. Tap the Apple ID there and sign out. Then sign in again, creating a new Apple ID. - In Settings choose "Create ..." to get this done.

When the new ID is set up, your mother will have her own account. The apps she downloaded before, with the account of your sister, will still be on the iPad, and when they need to be updated, she'll have to enter your sister's password.
