Jailbreak iOS 5.1 on ipad 2 ???

Hi,

I am holding onto an iPad 2 3G which is running on iOS 5.1
I tried to jailbreak (redsnow) to iOS 5.1.1 but was unsuccessful.
Tried searching in many forums but couldn't find any method to jailbreak 5.1 to 5.1.1
Please advice,

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I'm fairly certain that jailbreaks were only released for 5.0.1 and 5.1.1. Apparently a JB for OS6 may have already been achieved and is now in the testing period and we just need to wait and see at this point.

Please do not post twice on your issue as it divides the information given and makes it confusing for members to follow. It is also against our Forum Rules, your other post has now been deleted.

Unfortunately, there is no way now to upgrade your iPad to iOS 5.1.1 (which is the last version of iOS to be jail breakable). When iOS 6 was released, Apple stopped approving installs of any other iOS version.

Your only option now is to upgrade to iOS 6 and wait for a jail break on that iOS version. Here's hoping it's soon...
