Jailbreaking is a way to make your ipad do things it should have been designed to do!! Its not illegal in any way, shape or form. So follow the link in graywolf's reply and look at the possibilities.

Remember the ability to Jailbreak deopends on what ipad you have and what ios its running, again, the hacking section has some excellent stickies by our hacking guru f4780y, take a good read of them and if you still have a few questions feel free to pop back on here and ask away Roniwilliams.
