Hey,
So like many of you I missed out on the 4.3.3 jailbreak, having never updated my ipad2 from its factory installed 4.3.0. After doing a little digging, I learnt that before the official jailbreakme 4.3.3 came out, one of Comex's beta testers leaked a JB for 4.3.0.
Those files are still available, and with guidance from (sorry, can't post links),Edited by Moderator ~ external links are not allowed ~ also do not post DIY YouTube videos ~ Read IPF Rules I managed to successfully install Cydia. In essence, the process involves spoofing an IP address so that the JB files can be accessed with the PDF exploit.
Now on to the problems. It appears that my system applications have now gone missing e.g. Mail, Camera, Safari, etc. Also, the springboard is empty. An Itunes 'restore from backup' was not helpful, possibly because it auto-backed up the device first when I plugged in the ipad. I don't have SHSH blobs prior to 4.3.5 so a DFU restore is impossible.
Any ideas to fix this? I can see the system apps in IFunBox, but if I search on the ipad, nothing shows up..
I'm at a crossroads. On one hand, I'm tempted to upgrade (and reset) to 4.3.5. Then again, I now have a jailbroken iPad2, and perhaps Cydia has alternatives for the most important system apps e.g. Settings.
