Jailbroken iPad 2 locked on Orange (UK) network

Hi, I have just recently purchased a second hand iPad 2 running IOS 5.0.1 which I have jailbroken. I ordered a GiffGaff SIM only to find out the iPad is locked to the orange network running 04.11.08 baseband so the only way I can use my 3G is getting an Orange PAYG sim which isn't the cheapest.

I have been searching the Internet for a way to unlock the iPad but only find a way to unlock the mentioned baseband on iPhone. Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction.

I was under the impression all ipads are factory unlocked.Obviously not?

Nope, certainly not in the case of carrier providers Orange and Three in the UK
Problem is, Orange will unlock for £20 but if only the original owner asks for it. I've asked them and they just said they haven't the time to ask for me do im kinda in a catch 22 situation
