Jailbroken?

Does anyone know anything about pairing a blackberry with an iPad to be able to Bluetooth between the two? I have heard that your iPad needs to be jailbroken? Anybody know what that is, if it's safe to do,etc?

I just joined and look forward to learning from everyone here!
