I'm brand new and a senior.
I thought I synched my Ipad to computer but can't find my contacts. How do I do that?

You are better off syncing both the computer and the iPad to an online service like Google (or MobileMe if you already have it). Set the iPad account up as an exchange account to do this. There are a lot of benefits to doing it this way.

You are on you own setting up Outlook or other windows programs. I don't have them to experiment with, but I do know it is possible.

Setting up Google Sync with your iOS device : Mail, Calendar, & Contacts - Google Mobile Help

If you must sync directly to the computer the setup you are looking for is on the Info page in iTunes. Connect your iPad to the computer and select it under the Device list in iTunes. Click on the Info link at the top of the page. You'll find a check box to enable Contact syncing. Once it is enabled it should allow you to select the program you will sync with; Outlook for sure, and maybe some others.

You can get control of when you iPad syncs by going to iTunes preferences, the devices tab, and turning off auto-sync. It prevents the iPad from trying to sync when you plug it in.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.
