Joan Mad Run - bloody indie scroll shooter for pixel lovers

Hi, everyone!

Here are some news about our project Joan Mad Run!

First we were planning to make it for iOS only. And the version is 90% ready, so will be released very soon. However, we started getting requests from quite a number of people, that use other platforms. And so we decided to make an Android version and also test our luck on Steam Greenlight right now. About the game

Joan Mad Run is a pixel-art gory fight-to-the-death run’n’gun, that takes your enemies straight to hell. Literally.

Imagine that you wake up in a ward cell...you don't know why you are here, you can't tell who you are...but the only thing you are certain of is that you have to get out to find out the truth. Even if that means destroying everything on your way.

When there is noone you can trust, you can trust your guns. Luckily, you will have plenty. So you get an amazing chance to satisfy your bloodlust by burning your enemies alive, melting them with acid, chopping them and watching their blood spurt like geyser, striking them with lightning, exploding them, squeezing them like bugs or sending them directly to the blazing inferno.

Besides unique weapons you will also enjoy the mighty power-ups, which will make your fight to death less exhausting.

Hey guys!

We are working on Joan's weapons right now. So we'd like to share what we have by now and hear your opinion.

We try to take into account even tiniest details. And as you will see at the screenshots, each weapon kills the enemy in a special way, unlike in other games of the kind.

Here's some part of what we already have:

Kill elegantly with a Knife:





Cut enemies into pieces with Katana:

Kill several enemies at once and explode them on close shot with Shotgun:





No need to explain. AK-47 speaks for itself.





AK-47 upgraded with a grenade launch:

Freeze the enemies and watch them fall apart like glass with Freezegun:





Freezegun Pump. Freezes not only enemies, but the whole environment+all the traps:

Laser. Cuts everything on the path of its ray:

Incredibly evil laser flare passes through all levels and slices your enemies:

Yeah, you know, we already heard such an idea from several people, so we'll definitely think that over

Hey guys!

Here comes a new portion of weapons for Joan!

Circular saw. Brutal, isn't it? When upgraded, circular discs come off and kill all the enemies on your way:

Mono-molecular lash. Evil itself:





When upgraded it creates a net that makes minced meat out of your enemies:

Microwave gun. Ignites and incinerates enemies:

Lightning cannon. Strikes enemies with a lightning, chaining them together and turning into ashes:





When upgraded it creates a ball lightning:

Acid gun. Strikes with acid that melts your enemies:

When upgraded it spawns a bunch of headcrabs that spit acid all over the level:

Imp Gun. Creates a black hole that pulls blood and souls out of your enemies and takes them right into the blazing inferno:

Satanic. An upgraded version of the Imp Gun:

And here are my favourites!

Resizer. Inflates enemies and makes them blow up like balloons:

Reducer. Makes enemies small, which lets Joan step on and squeeze them just like beetles:

Which weapon would you choose to make your enemies suffer?

Hey everyone!

I've got some great news to share with you! Our project Joan Mad Run got Greenlit on April 4th!

Moreover, in order to let you feel a bit of this atmosphere and get ready for the main battle, we created a FREE alternate version of the game - John Mad Run. It has a brutal male hero John, 2 specially designed locations and 5 manly weapons. The game has no IAP, which is definitely a big plus. Hope you'll give it a try and let me know your opinion.
