I am a new user of an iPad Mini, the most current model. I want to be able to share selected, not all, documents that are now on my laptop on the iPad and on another laptop that is on the same wireless network as the first laptop.

I have installed Evernote, Drop Box, and Pages on my iPad, and I have Picassa on both the laptops plus Google + on all three devices.

I find, as a not very computer savvy and older man, that all the stuff I read on-line to be very confusing.

I have managed to transfer some photos back and forth from laptop to iPad both ways, but not selected documents. I would appreciate help.

In my opinion, the easiest thing for you to do is install Dropbox and Evernote on the two laptops. Both apps have corresponding (and free!) programs you can download from the respective web site.

Then, once you have them on your laptops, you can move "stuff" around all three devices. I think it'd be easy to do - especially as Dropbox on your laptops will look like another Windows Explorer folder that you can just "drag and drop" files to.

Once files are in your Dropbox account (from the laptop(s)), you can go to the iPad, open the Dropbox app and put those files on the iPad. And the reverse (moving the files from the iPad to Dropbox for access with your lap tops) is pretty much that easy, also.

The key is that you need the corresponding programs on your lap tops. Then, you can move files around.

Hope this helps. If not, or if you need more assistance, just holler and we'll take another shot at it.

Hi John and welcome!

For documents, I think you should go with Dropbox, which you have already set-up on your iPad. You need to also install Dropbox on your source PC, then move the documents you want to share to your newly crated Dropbox folder on your source PC.

if you also set-up Dropbox on your other PC, the docs you put in your Dropbox folder will also show up in your newly created Dropbox folder on your destination PC. When you open the Dropbox app on your iPad, those files should now show up as well.
