Hi everyone, I am retired and love computers. I wanted to see what the Ipad was all about, read reviews and went out and bought one, I was a Microsoft guy, but now am an Apple guy too! My most liked hobby is FTA also known as Free To Air Television . I also like computers and love my grandchildren. Hope to learn a lot by using this forum as a noob I have a lot to learn. :)

Hi there and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store and a great tutorial/guide for using the IPF App here http://www.ipadforums.net/new-membe...sistance/107524-ipad-forums-app-tutorial.html

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc. the guide for iOS 7 is here https://itunes.apple.com/gb/book/ipad-user-guide-for-ios-7/id709634245?mt=11

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net

Hi Rhody13 and welcome to the forum. Beautiful place Rhode Island, one that I would like to visit one day. Myself, I live in Adelaide, South Australia and, like you, I'm also retired and knew nothing about iPads until I bought one. Now my Windows8 PC has a more lonely life except when my wife feels like googling stuff or reading/sending emails. Nice you are enjoying life and I reckon your new iPad is just going to add to that. You’re now among iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners. Dive in and take part in any discussions within any topic that interests you. Just check out the various sub-forums here.

Ask any questions about stuff that may puzzle you here, but also use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page, as many that have gone before you are likely to have asked also.

Regards, Andrew
