Lock screen

i just updated my iPad and it stuck me with a lock screen which I don't want. My iPad stays home and I'm the only one ever on it. Is there a way to cancel having a lock screen??

There has always been a lock screen on iOS devices. There's no way to get rid of it. The only aspect that can be changed is whether or not you need a password to unlock your device.

Sorry for not wording it correctly...yes, how do you turn off having to input a PIN

Go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Turn Passcode Off.

What do you see after you enter the passcode in the onscreen pop up?
