Hi, My name is Dorothy. I'm going into my 80th year of having fun. The reason Iam telling you my age. Is that when people hear my age they always "oh isn't that wonderful that you are able to figure out a computer. I wish my mother would learn. I'm not saying I am a computer whiz technically, but I have been using one since I was in my late forties.
At the moment I have a lap top Blackberry Playbook, and now my Christmas present an Apple iPad
Retina.
It' like learning a new language and great fun.
I have been reading the manual, but still have questions. Looking forward to reading the questions that have already been asked along with this new experience..:)

:D
It's nice to be a new member. My first question is "how do I delete the little tabs at the top of the page of Apple's browser. I click on the
Wee tiny x inside the tab. It's so tiny I have trouble clicking, is there a secret to this. Thank you so much.

Hi, dottie_79! Welcome to iPF!

If you only want to delete single tabs, there's nothing else you can do but tapping the tiny x. :-)

There's something you can do to close them all at once.
In Safari, open a new tab (+ icon at the top right). You'll find "Private" at the bottom left. Tap it, and Safari will ask you if it should close all tabs:

Choose "Close All". You'll be in Private Browsing mode then. To end it, tap "Private" once more.

Thanks for the help. I wish there was an easier way. I don't want to lose them all. Same goes for the icon in the upper right hand corner it has a list of every site I have visited. I read that if you tap the book icon that an edit sign came up and you can clear them one at a time . In my case it deleted them all. I had better go and find the tutorial on using this forum if I can find it. I have never used a forum before.

The sites you visited in Safari will be found here:

You can't delete them one by one, though. They only can be cleared all at once:

You're welcome.

The more you post here, the more you'll learn and get used to it. It's the same with your iPad. If you never had an Apple device before, you'll have to get accustomed to the way it works. I'm sure you'll learn quickly. :-)
