Losing "personal hotspot" connection to iphone 4.

I use my iphone4 as a personal hotspot to connect my ipad3 to the internet. The problem is that I lose the connection regularly. The ipad then cant find my iphone as a possible wifi connection and the only way I can get it back is to go back to settings in the iphone, go to personal hotspot and turn it off and then back on again. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the best I can expect?

No, that is not the best you can expect. I use mine as a hotspot all the time when traveling and it works fine but may get iffy when I use it in a moving vehicle.

When in doubt, reboot. Both the iPhone and the iPad. That simple act has resolved most of my problems since the advent of iOs.
