Mail problem with pdf

I opened a pdf attachment from mail and successfully viewed the document. However now it is permanently open and obscures any mail menus which I can no longer access. I have no idea how to close the document. Note I have downloaded something called iAnnotate PDF which I dont know if is connected to this problem. Help?!

Tap on the document ... a little blue rectangle labeled "Done" should appear in the upper left hand corner of your iPad. Click that button and the PDF should close and bring you back to the e-mail you were in.

I know, I know, a lot of shoulds! But, that's what I do and it works. Hope this'll be your success too. If not, sorry, I don't know what's wrong.
