My pen name is Missy Terrell. I have an iPad 3 and really liked using it until I downloaded IOS 7 software. My outgoing email messages are not being received. Has anyone else experienced this problem? My email extension is @me.com. Please help!!!

Hi Missy T - welcome to the forum! :) I'm assuming you are having problems w/ the iOS 7 upgrade - there are now numerous threads on this forum regarding problems w/ this latest version (for myself, I'm waiting until the first 'bug' releases) - but if not already done, please 'Reset' your iPad and try again (directions below, if not familiar) - if not successful, then please post back to this thread - good luck! Dave

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom' or use multi-gesturing and swipe up); press & hold an app until all begin to 'jiggle'; find the offending app(s) and press the 'red circle w/ minus sign' - return to the home screen & try again.

2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.

3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.

ADDENDUM: 'Force Close' applies to pre-iOS 7 versions; 'Restart' & 'Reset' have not changed (from Apple's iOS 7 manual).

Hi Dave,

I reset my iPad but I still cannot send email messages. The problem started after I downloaded iOS 7 upgrade. I also did the iOS 7
upgrade on my iPhone. I can send outgoing email messages on it. My husband and I have spent many hours this evening viewing YouTubes but the problem remains. Maybe it is a bug and will correct itself soon. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Missy.
I had a problem with a Gmail account.
Where the Hotmail account was OK.
I had to delete the Gmail account and re install it. Then it was OK.
Before you delete an account you need to copy down the details incase you forget them.

I do not use gmail. My email account is iCloud. Maybe I should add a gmail account. Thanks.

I have several email accounts with gmail both for iTunes and private I forward all mail from other accounts to gmail as it just works so easy. All my devices sync on the fly plus mailbox offers a neat way to create folders for specific emails you receive. I suggest your problem is due to overloaded mail servers with Apple

Hi. Missy.
I was not saying to get another account.
I mean that you have a good chance to fix the problem by first deleting it, then re install it.

Hi Dave, you might want to adjust notes as the "force close" doesn't work that way anymore.

@ Missy T, I had the same issue when I upgraded, I would send an email from my iCloud account and it would disappear without ever going anywhere. My issue was solved very quickly by closing the app......

Four finger swipe up (or double tap on the home button) scrolling to the Mail app then swiping up on the thumbnail to close the app.

.......then I reset the iPad by (as Giradman says) holding the on/off button until the Apple logo appears and letting it reboot.

No problems with my email after that.
