Movie Problems

Hi, my iPad was a gift from my wife for Xmas, I'm what you might call "engrossed"! I have a problem with the movies, I downloaded a 3rd movie & watched 2 min' of it & it then froze, I got out & went back in but found a black screen, the 3 movies have completely gone & no matter what I do,I still have a black screen & no movies!!!
PLEASE HELP
