My daughter has an ipad2 16gb and we rented a movie which is taking forever to download -I was hoping we could have it downloaded in no more than 20 mins that does not seem to be the case so we are going to bed while it completes are the rentals normally a 24 hour thing?

Downloading a movie is dependent on the strength of your Internet service and also how many other devices are being used. Have a look at this thread and you will get a better idea.
