Movies on ipad?

Hi guys I just got the ipad2 64 gig

I have a ton of movies on my computer and I want to put them on an ipad for watching on a plane.

I hear you need to convert them to watch.

So I have a few questions.

1. What format should I convert the movies too?

2. What program would you recommend?

3. What app should I use to watch on ipad. I have a jailbroken ipad 2.

I used cinexplayer, it csn play avi
No need to convert

convert it to mp4. Using Handbrake a free program ( google it), you can use the video app that comes with your ipad

OK - there are a lot of threads on the Forum about converting movies but I've moved your post to the Hacking section, because there may be some specific JB issues. I use Handbrake (it's free) on my non-JB iPad; it has a specific setting for iPads, so converting is very simple.

If you're not into "converting" there are many movie player apps in the app store that play multiple formats.

Personally I use AVplayerHD...support for divx, avi, mkv, wmv.....etc...etc

Also allows to transfer movies over wifi to the app & bypassing having to use iTunes.
