moving douments from computer to ipad using pages

I recently purchased my apple ipad together with the pages apps.

I connected my ipad to my computer. Started up itunes, selected ipad device from the side bar and selected apps from the top menu.

My pages apps appears on the left and to the right is a document field with none of my word documents listed. How do I get my word documents
into my ipad vis itunes.

I am having this same problem. I can move files from my computer to ipad without going thru iTunes. Have been told by another member of forum that u need to have app that supports files
