You can download movies from Apple using the Videos app on your iPad. You can also get the Amazon Instant Videos app and can download movies that way. Both typically require you pay a fee (for sure the Apple one does).

Have a look at the app Crackle also......it has many movies and TV shows.

May not be the latest movies but still a good app.
