Multiple Bluetooth Connections

I've added Bluetooth to my car by bluetoothing the Aux-In to stream music from Spotify using my iPad Air. Volume controls on the steering wheel work, but obviousley the track selection controls don't.
While using the bluetooth to stream music from my iPad Air 2, will I also be able to cconnect a bluetooth remote that will allow me to select music tracks?
