Hi all,

I can't say enough about how my iPad has revolutionized how I work and play. Other than my iPod, this is my first entry into Apple computing.

My confusion is with my wifi hookup. I have a 64 wifi version and I primarily use it at home. When I travel, I've never had issues connecting to wifi. At home, wifi acts funny - it connects most of the time and other times it gives me an error message even though all indicators show a wifi connection. It's very frustrating and the ONLY WAY TO RECONNECT is to restart wifi in total. I've tried resetting settings, turning unit off and restarting and a million iterations in between.

Is there anyone with the same issues and/or recommendations?

This sometimes works.

Power down the router and leave it off for at least two minutes. While it is off go into the Settings on the iPad, General > Reset, Reset Network Settings.

After the router is backup, connect to your network again, and wait to see if you've been cured.

Also, visit the manufacturer's site for your router and make sure there are no firmware updates for it. Early implementations of 802.11n wi-fi routers have been known to play poorly with Appel devices, especially iPads.

Here is another forum post on troubleshooting router vs iPad problems.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Thank you. Powering down the router always works, but I've never reset settings when the router is powered down, only before so will try that. I've been on hours worth of phone time with the router help desk and we've looked at several settings and changes. I'll also look into the link provided. I appreciate your response.
