My outbox mail keeps not sending, have had my ipad for a year

Was hoping someone could help me. Ive had my ipad for about a year and never had this problem, everytime i send an email it goes to the outbox and doesnt contact the server. Ive got no idea how to go about fixing this, its been like it since last night and has not fixed itself up.

My advice - based on many similar occurrences myself - is to wait a little while. I have frequently, when faced with a similar situation, started checking and changing settings, re-entering account details, rebooting my PC, router etc only to find, a day later, I get an email from my email service provider telling me that their email server was down the day before.

Had the same problem after I changed my hotmail password. You need to change it in TWO places in the settings: Once on the main account page and once in
Outgoing mail (smpt.live.com)
primary server (click on arrow right next to the server name)
Password

I have been having this issue with my iPod ever since i had changed my hotmail password and could NOT figure out why....thank you for posting that...I finally got tired of being frustrated and did a search on my question and landed on this thread....and my problem is SOLVED ! I am skipping away now....
