Need Help retrieving email after a FW upgrade

Hi, short story is that my Sister asked me to upgrade the FW on her Ipad2 and on it where some important sent emails (her ISP / mail provider is COX). I upgraded the FW and because they were sent using COX, they no longer appear on the IPad or the Cox webmail site(apparently you have to opt in to save each email with COX). Does any one know of a solution to try and pull the data out of the temporary files on the Ipad?

If no current backup has been done then they are gone for good. I would check COX's webmail if it has the option to leave emails on the server.
