need help to get ipad to print

Hi all,
I have purchased several print apps to use with my Brother HL 2140 printer. I have also downloaded the wii print that is recommended.
The test page is received by the printer, but comes out blank. I then try to print a page from safari and it tells me to select printer then tells me no printer is found.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
