Hi all, my name is Shelby and I'm from Cheyenne, Wyoming. I got the iPad in September, and before that I had the iTouch, last year's model (I don't know what generation that is) and it is still my prefered device for music. Ever since I first synced my iPad, I have had problems syncing both devices with iTunes--I get an error message that says, "a required file cannot be found" and neither device will update. On a different forum, someone suggested deleting a photo cache but I have not uploaded any pictures to either device. Anyway, this looks like a great site so I'll do some searching; I look forward to learning more!

BTW, what does "jail broken" mean?

Hello Shelby, Welcome to The Forum

"Jail breaking" is term used to indicate that you have taken your Apple iPad product and with a jail breaking app, you can work on your iPad that is not an Apple approved app or activity.

In essence when you jail break you are customizing your iPad beyond the approved Apple processes. We have a section in the forum called Hacking. That is another term.

In terms of problems with synching, if you did not uncheck Photos to sync, the iPad and iTunes may be trying to sync non-existent photos. I think all you have to do in iTunes is unclick sync photos.
