New iPad 3G/ looking for how-to's

Looking forward to incorporate into the education field from administration outlook. Trying to figure out where files go when I download them on iPad; zip files, dmg's, etc. Hopefully I will get pointed in right direction. came across this forum when researching info and glad to be a member.
