New iPad

I just upgraded to a 7th generation iPad Air.
I also have an older iPad and iPhone. For some reason I cannot text
a certain individual on the new new iPad but, I can on the other 2 devices.
(Texts to her are In green rather than blue)
Any settings in should be aware of?

Go to Settings>Messages>Send as SMS and make sure it’s turned on. If it isn’t you can’t send a text to someone who doesn’t use iMessage. (That’s why messages to her are green instead of blue.)

I don’t seem to have that option.

I figured out that my new iPad wasn’t included on the list in my phone. DUH

If your iPhone is off you can’t send her a text, both have to be on.
