New ipad2 - no cloud or message loaded ... Help plz

just brought home a new pad....in fact 2. Wife has message icon and cloud on hers...I don't. Mine is Verizon 3g...hers is just wifi. How do I download both for mine? I am assuming this occured when I initially set mine up.
