So much has been made of the new iPad’s Retina Display that it’s no surprise at all that journalists and tech bloggers have all been chomping at the bit to put the new iPad’s display through its paces and find out just how good it really is, and how it measures up to its rivals and to previous versions of the iPad. DisplayMate has already done exactly that, All Things D’s Ina Fried reports, and it would appear that according to this particular report, the new iPad’s Retina display really is as groundbreaking and impressive as Apple claims it to be. According to Fried, DisplayMate reports that the new iPad’s display is the best on the market, with DisplayMate’s Ray Soneira commenting that the iPad 2’s “very good†display has been “dramatically improved†in two main respects, namely sharpness and colour saturation. “They are now state-of-the-artâ€, says Soneira.
