More leaked pictures of the upcoming iPad’s components have surfaced recently via Australia’s Macfixit website, showcasing a next gen 9.7-inch iPad digitizer of a black model. The repair company posted a description for the part that said:
“So it looks like we’ve got a preview of the replacement screen for the iPad 4 which is not even out yet.â€
Apparently, eager users can purchase the elusive iPad component and so it happens that the digitizer is already sold out. It looks like we have arrived too late.
Macfixit received the images from its suppliers, so we can assume the pics are genuine. More than that, the thinner bezels to the left and right and thicker borders shown in the images, are exactly what the industry sources have been proclaiming for months now. Overall, the next gen iPad seems to be more similar to the iPad mini.
The post also shed some light on the connectors featured on the upcoming iPad 5. Most likely, we are going to see the Flat Flexible Cables of previous iPads replaced with the Flexible Printed Circuits that are used in the iPhone 5 today.
The Australian website didn’t provide any further details about the part or the complete device per se. They didn’t say when the screens will become available or the exact date when we’re going to see the iPad 5. They did provide a pric,e however. To them, a replacement screen for the yet unreleased iPad 5 is worth $229.
