Hi All,i will be purchasing an ipad 2,16gb in next few days, one question i need answering please,..is there
a benifit in purchasing 3g model ? If so what ? Thanks guys,
Look forward to hearing your opinions.
Yes at times it is great to be able to access your own Internet than to rely on open wifi signals that bring with them their own security risks. I travel and if I want to access a hotels wifi network the costs can be quite expensive, much cheaper for me to buy a sim for the area I am in rather than go that route. A big reason for me too was the GPS capability which does not require an active or charged sim to be able to access as the chip is built into the iPad itself. I have maps loaded into my iPad and away I go without it costing me anything. The extra cost of buying a 3G iPad has saved me much more over the time I have had it. I hope this helps you in your decision.

I found 3G to be very useful, but you need to make sure your plan comes with a pretty decent amount of usage. Dependant on where you're from, I would say you need a 10 GB minimum. I had a 2GB plan and went over every month, my service provider charged me an additional £12.50 per day of usage outside of the plan.
