New member with a couple of problems

Hi
I am new to this and am a parent who has two kids with iPads and trying hard to keep up with the technology. They have had their ipads since Christmas. However my son's iPad has stuck on full volume and the sound icon won't
disappear. If you press the slider bar on the side it just puts the volume right back to max. I have tried to reboot it and also tried to press the bar up and down a few times to see if that would help but to no avail. I have also put the
Bluetooth off but this has made no difference.
I have tried to look through a lot of the threads but can't see anything else that I can try before I take it to the apple shop.
Has anyone got anymore ideas please

It sure sounds like the volume rocker switch is physically stuck in the up position. When you press the volume switch to lower volume does the switch respond? In other words does volume decrease but immediately go back to max levels when released?

Is their any indication that the iPad has taken physical damage in the area where the switch is located? Dents, scratches, rocker switch not level when in neutral position?
