Change your passwords frequently and make them as strong as possible. Use upper and lower case letters, symbols and numerals.
Don't worry about viruses on the iPad. It can't get them, and no antivirus software exists. Anything that claims to be an antivirus for iOS is wrong. No app can gain enough access to the operating system to fulfill this function.
