Hello everyone. This is just a quick introduction of myself as I am new to the forum. I am retired and live in a small village in Cornwall, where I enjoy the peace and quiet having grown up, and worked in the East End of London for most of my adult life. I joined the Army straight from school as an Apprentice Surveyor, and was lucky to be posted to most parts of the Globe as part of my job. I still enjoy travelling although I am limited now as some time ago I broke my back in an RTA. Life is a ***** sometimes:0) Because of my disability I rely on my "Gadgets" to keep me occupied; and in touch with the World. At the present time I have an iPhone, an iPad and an iPad Mini and I also own a ASUS Nexus 7. I know its an Android; but never having had an Android Device before I wanted to try the system out. (I'll be sticking with IOS). I enjoy watching Films and listening to music and have always got one of my "gadgets" with me at all times. I also read a lot of books for which the iPad Mini is superbly equipped and they are kept in sync automatically which is nice. I do have a question which I am hoping someone can answer for me: How can I attach a TV Dongle to the iPad so that I can watch and record TV? Can I use an OTG Female USB Cable? I know that some cables will only let you read Pictures, but I want to be able to read and transfer Data. I would be most grateful for any good ideas or fixes. You can reply to me on this Forum. Best wishes to all for now. Met497

Hi there and welcome.

I have seen an adaptor for TV, at Maplins I think, I'll see if I. Can find it however, as long as you have a wifi/3G connection you don't really need it as you can watch gazillions of TV channels through apps like FilmOn and BBC iPlayer. Whilst you cannot record with those apps (and I can't really help you with the recording aspect of your question) all the main channels here in the UK have iPlayer type apps to allow you to watch older programmes.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store and a great tutorial/guide for using the IPF App here http://www.ipadforums.net/new-membe...sistance/107524-ipad-forums-app-tutorial.html

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/6/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net
