I ran across this forum as a result of a search on why it takes so long to backup my iPad... So I registered and viola! I'm here...
I purchased an iPad a few weeks ago in lieu of a new laptop or similar setup and so far, I am extremely pleased I did so! I can leave my work notebook at my desk all the time. Any documents i need I place in my "Docs To Go" folder and i can work on them whenever. Of course, it's hard to work when there is so much media to explore... Netflix, Hulu+, etc...
