I have the original Ipad. I pay 25 a month for the data plan. I keep getting an error message that I don't have a sim card. Not all the time, but sometimes. Why?

I saw your message about a SIM card - but I'm assuming you can connect via 3G sometimes? If the answer is 'Yes' it can simply be an intermittent SIM card contact - so take the SIM card out and gently - very gently - rub the gold contacts with a dry, clean, soft cloth and re-insert and try again.
