Thank you, Johnny, for your welcome.

I am almost 75, live on Vancouver Island, have been using PCs for several years, do not have a smart phone, returned a Galaxy tablet because I could not get it to work for me.

I have had an iPad 2 for three hours. Have browsed "My New iPad2", by Wallace Wang for a couple of weeks, have started reading the iPad 2 User's Guide on the Internet. My problem may be too specific for these.

Out of curiosity, I opened iTunes Podcasts (never had a podcast - just curious). I got the Podcast Starter Pack. The screen shows 12 of 21 podcasts. None of the images respond to taps. Worse, I can't get out of Podcasts when I try the iTunes icon.

Any suggestions?

Hi Harried and welcome to the Forum!

I've never downloaded a podcast through iTunes so I can't answer your specific question. I've just fooled around with some though and I can go in and out, so something is going a little haywire for you. So give this step a try and it should fix it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button (button in the middle of ipad) to reveal your multi task bar along the bottom. These are all the apps that you have opened. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it. It's a good idea to close all these apps as it will help your iPad to run more smoothly. Let us know how you go.
