A manufacturer has made a iPad stand that can add 16 hours to the life of the iPad. The stand can hold the iPad, even when in the Apple iPad case. The charger stand is shaped like a flat brick with slots. Costs about $130. It is hard for me to imagine needing this, but I suppose someone who is off the grid for days would want it.

It's cool if you do not own any supplemental power sources already: solar charger, other more universal external batteries (e.g JustMobile Gum Pro), or even a car with a power outlet/cig lighter.

The price is fairly competitive. My Solio solar charger was $100 about 4 years ago. My 5500mAh JustMobile Gum Pro was $60 about 2 years ago.

130 bucks, bit pricy , maybe eBay will have em less in half yr, or imitations.

The problem is the iPads charging port keeps the iPad in portrait mode.
