I have an iPad and am looking to learn how to make it a good work tool and to make traveling lighter. I lost a couple of thousand vacation photos from our recent vacation from syncing/backup and now I have none. I was hoping that the forum may be able to help me try to recover as many as possible. I am an avid wine fan and love to cook and have worked in aerospace for 28 years.

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

You may have to be more specific about your concerns - e.g. 'lost a couple of thousand vacation photos'? Were these taken on your iPad and/or uploaded from your digital camera(s) - will help to know

I'm also a wine advocate and have a small cellar now (much larger years ago!) - and wife & I enjoy eating out and she cooking - so you might want to express you need for potential iPad apps in these areas - hope to see your posting!

Finally, if you still haven't had enough, how about a video explaining about our other forums (note:you may want to play this at half speed but hey, why shouldn't Phil be excited about our forums!)

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Please read the rules too!!

Thanks all for the welcome. I took the photos with my Canon and downloaded them to my iPad after a fellow traveler in my group accidentally deleted his photos from his camera one day during our trip losing 2.5 days of photos. They were all there when I came home and connected to my PC to start backing them up. Then I came back after some time and found the error window and that's when all the bad stuff happened and have not recovered since.
