New to site

Hi, I'm new to the site. I registered because I have been having trouble with length of time it takes to update my apps on my iPad mini. My current phone is an iphone 5. I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Please address the following questions: 1) Which iOS is installed on your iPad Mini & on your iPhone (current one is 7.0.4)?; 2) Are you using a home Wi-Fi network and if so do updates on your iPhone download as expected using the same network?; 3) Is this a new issue w/ your iPad, and if so what other changes might you have made to the device (e.g. recent iOS upgrade)?; and 4) Which app(s) is affected, i.e. just one or two or many?

In the meantime, follow the quoted steps below; first, 'Force Close' the App Store - if not effective, proceed down the list and recheck after each step - good luck and please let us know the answers to the above questions and the results of the steps suggested. Dave

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom' or use multi-gesturing and swipe up):
a. iOS 6.x - press & hold an app until all begin to 'jiggle'; find the offending app(s) and press the 'red circle w/ minus sign' - return to the home screen & try again.
b. iOS 7.x - find the offending app - then press and drag to the top of the screen - return to the home screen & try again.


2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.


3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.
