Hi I'm new to the forums and I ran in to a problem on my iPad 2. While on my apps it automatically closes and goes to the home screen. Can anyone help me on this. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

The way around this is to completely switch off the iPad. Press and hold the Power switch until the slider control appears and then accept the offer to switch off. The iPad will power down. Now press the Power switch again until the Apple logo appears and the iPad will power up. This power up does a lot of 'housekeeping' and frees up system memory (RAM). It's a shortage of available RAM that causes an app to quit and return to the Home screen.

Welcome to ipf,

This also happens if you have too many apps open. To close them, double click the home button, touch and hold an app, till it begins shaking. A small red no entry sign will appear. If you click that red button, the app will close. This might do the trick.

I hope you find this forum as informative and addictive as I do!
