Hello:

I have joined this forum site to get the most out of my iPad. I am also a pilot and use it for aviation with various apps, primarily Foreflight. I also have been using it more and more for business, as I am self employed. Nice to now leave my laptop behind...

I had one question to post as it pertains to the internal built in gps. The software I use needs (or is much more consistent) with a product called elf gps. This plugs in to the 30 pin adapter and seeks information directly from the satellite rather than from towers. The questions is is there a way to disable the internal gps or have the external supersede the internal gps?

I suppose you could try turning off Location services in Settings. Better yet, just turn it off for the specific app that uses the elf gps. Not sure if that will work, but it's worth a try.
