Newbie looking to play music while playing pn the iPad

I just received my iPad today and am excited and playing with it for hours. But I would like to be able to listen to
some of the music I finally figured out how to get on here in the background while I continue installing apps and setting things ups.

Is there anyway this can be done?

1. Open the Music app
2. Play the music and press home
3. Now do whatever you want!
4. Control music by double clicking home and swiping right.
By the way, some apps like to pause the music while open. And before I forget, welcome to the forums.

Thank you both for the warm welcome. I finally figured it out on my own. What a cool surprise. Lol I've got a ton of questions that I will search for first. Already devoured the manual and and am having a blast with my new toy/tool!
