Hi and welcome to the Forum!

The microphone is at the top of the iPad when held in portrait mode, it's that tiny slit on the top. How are you holding your iPad when recording? Can people hear you at all or is it garbled?

Same problem

My iPad seems to have the exact same problem. Only static heard after recording a video. Please help me out if you've managed to deal with it and no, rebooting or resetting did not help.:(

If you are suffering from poor recording ability, including Skype calls, it's worth trying to clear any débris that may be blocking the microphone port at the top of the iPad.

Using the crevice tool of a vacuum cleaner, maintaining as tight a seal as you can, give a couple of minutes of suction and see if it clears the problem.
