Not able to synch

Hi guys, my husband has an iPad still under warranty and is unable to synch either on his Dell (don't ask!) or my MacBook. He has tried rebooting the iPad but no luck. Any suggestions?

The problem is solved! He made a Genius appointment and as it was under warranty they just replaced it.
