Love this story today on Mashable about Purina’s Friskies cat food brand coming up with the bright idea of iPad games for cats! The video is just too cute, and of course creates plenty of great publicity for Friskies. There are plenty of videos of cats playing with iPads on YouTube of course, but I think this is the first time that they've had their own game created for them. In the video the cats are seen playing with three games on the iPad: Cat Fishing, Tasty Treasures Hunt and Party Mix-Up! The games were made using HTML5/CSS3, with the simple gameplay based on research of cats’ senses and how they react to different stimuli. They will all work on other tablets as well as the iPad, in case your kitty is an Android fan. Now if they want to see the cats go really mad someone should come up with a scratch and sniff catnip app! According to Friskies, the iPad’s glass screen suffered no ill effects whatsoever from the cats' claws, although they warn that protective plastic covers might not fare so well.
