Old dog with a new toy!

Gamalot

iPF Noob
Hi to all. New here and not very tech savvy. I got a new 32GB IPad ll/wifi and will have many dumb questions as I work my way through the learning process. This is my first Apple/Mac device and I was never really very good with my old PC. Hope to find some patient pals here who might take the time to walk me through this maze. I do have grand kids who would be glad and fully capable of getting me schooled but then I would have to share my new toy! Going now to find the right place to ask some questions I need help with. BTW, Gamalot is NOT Game a lot, it is GAry and MAry and our last name that begins with LOT.

Hello Gary & Mary - welcome to the forum! :)

There are plenty of great folks here to help - also, try out the search functions; LOTS of information already available.

In addition, many links to guides exist - start w/ the official Apple iPad 2; PDF file HERE - hope to see you posting!

Thanks Giradman. I did make a post in the help forum and got some good start up answers and super fast. Just what I needed. I'll probably hang over there for a while until I get up to speed.

Hi there Gary and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/
