Delighted at the quality of screen for looking at pics, but made the mistake of copying my entire iPhoto library from an older iMac. I've also downloaded more recent photos from my camera. The problem is that I can easily delete or modify the new ones, but not from the iPhoto library. As a result I've run out of memory. How do I get rid of the old ones? The trash icon doesn't come up for them.

Hi, Roy, welcome to iPF!

To remove photos you added to your iPad from a computer, you have to deselect the pictures/albums/collections in iTunes (on the computer that you used to sync them to your device) and then sync the iPad to it once more.
